Regional workshop hosted by the Territorial Commission for combating THB from Soldanesti

      On June 2, was held the fifth regional workshop hosted by the Territorial Commission from Soldanesti. The workshop brought together members of the Territorial Commission, but also the chairmen and secretaries of the Territorial Commissions, representatives of the Multidisciplinary Teams and representatives of NGOs from districts of Soroca, Orhei, Falesti, Telenesti. The meeting was not attended by specialists of Rezina. Within the framework of the workshop were brought into question the role of the Territorial Commissions and Multidisciplinary Teams in achieving activities to combat trafficking in human beings.

      Number one session was devoted to overview the experience derived from the framework of the workshop which took place at Târgu-Mures, Romania, on  April 4-7.

      In the debate were highlighted cooperation between authorities, services available for victims and potential victims of THB, were identified important resource the Centre of placement Hope for orphan girls, the Centre of placement for the elderly. The same were brought into question the preventive measures taken by the authorities at the local level, information sessions and awareness of civil society, the work of medical staff in order to prevent THB. Representatives of law enforcement bodies brought to the attention of the participants about how recruiters used to recruit via online and telling about the new countries of destination for the population of Soldanesti district.

      In order to smooth coordination of activities at the local level, the Permanent secretariat has recommended to make a clear distinction between the role and composition of the Territorial Commissions versus Teams of Multidisciplinary planning of Territorial Commissions activities overrun the formal framework of activity and cooperation between local institutions.
