On 18 October 2016 is marked "European day against trafficking in human beings". On this occasion, in the Republic of Moldova, for the fifth consecutive year, unfolds the national campaign "Week of fighting against trafficking in human beings".

      This event is organized by the Permanent secretariat of the National Committee for combating trafficking in human beings, the Central and local authorities, in partnership with non-governmental organizations and international organizations. National campaign aims to raise awareness of the society about the risks and consequences of trafficking in human beings (THB), the progress of the anti-trafficking community, reviewing gaps and impediments in the implementation of the CoE Convention on the fight against THB.

      The campaign will be launched through a press conference with the participation of representatives of central public administration institutions, implementation partners and civil society. Within it will be addressed anti-trafficking community achievements and trends of the TFU.

      The press conference will be followed by implementation of a series of activities throughout the national campaign: a strategic analysis report "monitoring the situation concerning trafficking in human beings-criminal status and dynamics analysis for the year 2015"; 3 round tables for multidisciplinary team members in order to strengthen efforts to prevent and combat THB; art exhibition marking the European Anti-trafficking Day, during which artists from around the country will present works of art reflecting the issues of THB; public lectures with students from faculties of law, international relations, political science, social work at the Institute of international Relations of Moldova, Free International University of Moldova; the social theatre as a method of psychotherapy in groups, and prevention tool of THB, photo contest "youth against THB through objective", running video spots on the risks of illegal migration of labour and the testimonies of victims of THB; book donation.

      During this period, activities will be held throughout the country, with the direct involvement of Territorial commissions for combating THB, which will be carried out in particular awareness-raising activities, such as: distribution of information materials, like: flyer "Families without borders", an informative brochure with hot lines of anti-trafficking community, flyer "The protection of children " and "Hearing of child victims/witnesses of crimes in special conditions" the interviewer's guide "Hearing spaces specially designed for children-victims or witnesses to the crime", the guide" how to protect adolescents from emotional abuse"; watching/video spots running based on the testimonies of victims of THB, etc.
